Job Description:
Psychiatric Nurse PractitionerPart-timePay Range: $70/hour -
$80/hourLocation: Tempe or West PhoenixThe Psychiatric Nurse
Practitioner provides professional behavioral health medication
management services and brief psychotherapy to eliminate or
decrease symptoms resulting from behavioral health disorders and
other emotional disturbances. The NPs primary responsibilities are
to provide psychiatric assessment, behavioral health diagnosis,
brief psychotherapy, and medication management. CPR offers
alternative interventional therapies and counselling to further
assist patients achieve mental wellness. Work is conducted on an
independent basis, but is regularly reviewed to ensure that
caseload is properly managed, clients are progressing
satisfactorily and treatments and interventions are done in
accordance with policies, procedures and regulations. CPR is

skills to communicate in a professional manner with clientsStrong
clinical skills to diagnose and treat behavioral health
issuesAttention to detail and able to problem solve and work
independently.DSM-V diagnosisCurrent medication and
treatmentsAbility to work within an electronic medical record
system (EMR)Duties:Obtains and accurately documents relevant health
histories, with emphasis on mental healthPerforms comprehensive
psychiatricElicits information from multiple sources using
assessment techniques that are appropriate to the clients language,
culture and developmental stagePrescribes psychotropic and related
medications based on clinical indicatorsMeets productivity
requirementsEducates clients, and family members if appropriate, on
a variety of health related topicsParticipates in emergency
response activities as assignedMaintains required training,
licensure, and/or certificationMaintains confidentiality of
privileged information and adheres to patient privacy
lawsDemonstrates sensitivity and understanding of other ethnic
groups, cultures, and sexual orientationsAvailable to respond to
clients and/or customers including after hours availabilityAttend
staff meetingsMeet with Medical Director as neededFollow protocols
for documentation per Bureau of Medical Facilities Licensing
(BMFL), hospital, insurance company guidelines, and standard
practices of care.Other duties as assignedQualifications and
Education Requirements:Masters Degree in Advanced Practice Nursing
from a program that was fully accredited during the entire time of
the practitioners attendance. Must supply copies of degrees and
transcripts as requested.Current, unrestricted license issued by
the Arizona State Board of Nursing. Current Board Certification
with the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC).Other
Items:Must comply with training and supervision requirements during
first 90 days of employment, and throughout employment.All
licensed, certified or registered staff will be monitored regarding
restrictions, Medicare/Medicaid sanctions, criminal violations,
subsequent malpractice actions and any settlement made on behalf of
practitioner.Provide evidence of professional liability insurance
coverage in the amount acceptable, minimum $1/$3 millionAll CPR
clinical staff is required to apply for, and/or present and
maintain, within 7 days of hire, a Class One Fingerprint Clearance
card. If application is necessary, a copy must be submitted to
include in personnel file until card is received. Also to provide a
copy of the card upon any renewal. This includes any volunteers,
interns and administrative staff positions as needed.Valid drivers
license and auto insurance must be maintained at all time. Must
maintain current CPR/First Aid card.All nurse practitioners at CPR
are required to carry individual malpractice insurance.All
expirables to be renewed and submitted 30 days prior to expiration
date. It is the duty of the licensee to keep all expirables active
and current and report any mandated change to the Board
