Job Summary
Estrella Mountain Community College (EMCC) is hiring a Library
Specialist to work under the Learning College philosophy
(http://www.estrellamountain.edu/learning-college) placing learning
first anyway, anyplace, anytime. This position provides the EMCC
Community (students, employees, public) library service including
varied support related to technology, library information
resources, and circulation services. This position also performs
troubleshooting of minor hardware and software issues.
Essential Functions
50% Assists the EMCC Community at the Library Services Desk. Aid
the EMCC Community by providing library services and assistance in
using the library's print and non-print resources.
30% Perform a variety of tasks beyond working at the Library
Services Desk, ie., process reserves; maintain print and non-print
collections; process intradistrict (IDL) and interlibrary (ILL)
loan materials; post fines, etc.
20% Performs a variety of office tasks, ie., order office supplies,
prepare reports and assist with special projects; trains and
provides work direction for student assistants and temporary
workers; perform other duties as assigned commensurate to grade
level of the position.
Minimum Qualifications
Associate's Degree from a regionally accredited institution and one
(1) year of full-time equivalent experience in library support
services such as library information resources, circulation
services and equipment coordination.
OR
High school diploma/GED from a regionally accredited institution
and three (3) years of full-time equivalent experience in library
support services such as library information resources, circulation
services and equipment coordination.
Desired Qualifications
A. One (1) year of experience in an academic setting. Preferably in
higher education
B. Two (2) years in positions providing customer service
C. Experience with integrated library systems
D. Experience with standard office productivity software such as
Microsoft Office or Google Suite
Special Working Conditions
May be required to work evenings and weekends
May require prolonged periods of viewing a computer screen
May be required to lift or carry up to 25 lbs with or without a
reasonable accommodation
