Job Summary
Estrella Mountain Community College (EMCC) is hiring a Custodial
Supervisor. to work under the Learning College philosophy () where
learning happens anytime, anyway, any place. This position
supervises and oversees custodial staff,
Essential Functions
30% - Organizes, directs and coordinates custodial activities.
Provides assistance with the most complicated custodial operations
work of those supervised and may perform the same work as
subordinates. Responds to requests and complaints from work order
system or emergency calls; handles more complex complaints not
resolved at a lower level; responds to escalated issues and
customer concerns. oversees quality control and assurance of
activities.. Reports accidents and provides follow up on required
actions. Participates in hiring, discipline and termination
activities.
20% - Monitors contract cleaning performance
20% - Organizes and/or maintains records and logs to ensure
compliance with all applicable rules and regulations, Identifies
training needs and opportunities; provides training and mentoring,
participates in hiring and discipline activities, reports accidents
and provides follow up actions. Reports accidents and provides
follow-up action.
10% - Plans, develops and implements regular maintenance
programs
10% - Purchases and maintains supply inventory and equipment,
recommends equipment, venders, chemicals and suppliers
10% - Prepares routine and ad hoc reports. Performs other duties as
assigned commensurate to the grade level of the position.
Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED, four (4) years of maintenance
operations, grounds or directly related experience, and two years
of lead work or senior level building maintenance or grounds
experience.
Desired Qualifications
A. Custodial experience in a commercial, industrial and/or
educational setting.
B. Bilingual (Spanish & English).
C. Three (3) years custodial supervisory experience.
D. Experience with custodial cleaning procedures, products and
equipment.
Special Working Conditions
Climbing stairs and/or ladders to reach assigned areas along with
working at heights.
Will be bending and stooping regularly.
May be required to lift or carry up to 50 lbs with or without a
reasonable accommodation.
Possession of a valid State of Arizona Class D driver's license is
required; must meet minimum standards regarding driving:
May be exposed to hazardous chemicals.
Work outdoors in a variety of temperatures and environmental
conditions.
May be required to work at multiple sites or locations.
