Job Description Job Description Sleep Technician (Full-Time) The
Insomnia and Sleep Institute of Arizona We are seeking a skilled
and compassionate Sleep Technician to join our growing team to work
four 10-hour shifts per week . In this full-time role, you will
play a vital part in diagnosing and improving sleep health for our
patients. The ideal candidate is experienced in conducting sleep
studies in accordance with AASM (American Academy of Sleep
Medicine) standards and works effectively under the direction of
the Director of Sleep Diagnostic Services. About the Role As a
Sleep Technician, you will be responsible for preparing and
conducting sleep studies, scoring data, and ensuring a safe,
comfortable, and high-quality experience for patients. Your
attention to detail, clinical knowledge, and patient-centered
approach will help support our mission of delivering exceptional
sleep care. Key Responsibilities · Sleep Study Preparation & Setup
· Review patient history, confirm medical orders, and assess
individual needs. · Greet patients, verify identity, obtain
consent, and explain procedures. · Prepare and calibrate equipment;
apply electrodes and sensors per protocol. · Fit and desensitize
patients to PAP (Positive Airway Pressure) interfaces. Conducting
Sleep Studies · Perform and monitor various sleep tests (e.g.,
MSLT, MWT, PAP titration, oxygen titration, parasomnia studies). ·
Conduct physiological calibrations and initiate “lights out”
procedures. · Monitor data quality, correct artifacts, and document
clinical observations. · Implement therapeutic interventions (e.g.,
PAP, oxygen) as needed. · Complete “lights on” procedures and
assist patients post-study. Scoring & Reporting · Score sleep
stages and clinical events using AASM guidelines. · Generate
accurate reports summarizing sleep and clinical data. · Prepare and
manage data from portable monitoring devices. · Educate patients on
home sleep testing and ensure proper equipment handling. Service
Management & Professionalism · Maintain compliance with safety,
infection control, and HIPAA standards. · Perform routine equipment
maintenance and inventory checks. · Respond to patient inquiries
and provide education per protocol. · Participate in quality
assurance and continuous improvement efforts. · Demonstrate
professionalism, critical thinking, and teamwork. Qualifications ·
Completion of an accredited sleep technology program (certificate
or associate degree). · Certification by a nationally recognized
board (e.g., RST, RPSGT, RRT-SDS). · Current CPR/BCLS
certification. · Strong computer, communication, and customer
service skills. · Ability to work independently and collaboratively
in a clinical setting. Physical Requirements · Frequent standing,
reaching, and communication. · Occasional walking, sitting,
stooping, kneeling, or crawling. · Ability to lift/move up to 10
lbs regularly, 25 lbs frequently, and 50 lbs occasionally. · Visual
acuity including close, distance, color, peripheral vision, and
depth perception
