Job DescriptionCome join our team of professionals at Aurora Behavioral Health System. This free-standing psychiatric inpatient hospital and outpatient program, located in Tempe, Arizona, is looking for a Medical Records Specialist. Our psychiatric facility is licensed to treat adolescents and adults for a wide range of psychiatric conditions and chemical dependency.This position supports the Health Information Management department through a variety of clerical, technical and related support services.Duties to include:Retrieve charts from the nursing unitsAssemble and analyze charts for completenessCopy and fax documents to outside providersProcessing record requests (ROI)#INDLOWRequirements: High School diploma or verifiable equivalent preferred. Six months clerical experience, preferred to include: computer skills, Microsoft Excel, volume copying, filing and record-keeping skills, work organization, prioritization, and time management skills. Must be familiar with general medical terminology; psychiatric terminology helpful. Ability to analyze charts independently; ability to make decisions on the release of information a must. Knowledge of HIPAA required. Must be customer service oriented.
